Fremiet Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Pulverized flowers, rocks, acid, red fruits, brilliance. Shocked that it took 3 hours in a decanter just to open up! Very stacked and just incredible.

A perfect '99: dense, juicy, but still plenty of acid

Very good but needs plenty of time. Secondaries came out for a second than hid back behind layers of acid and tannin.

So fragrant it's almost too fragrant. Never had a Volnay with Curry spices. Concentrated floral notes as well. Great on the palate. Truly interesting stuff.

Proper old Volnay from a proper producer in a proper year. Sous bois all day everyday.
