Bell's Brewery
Expedition Stout
Roasted Sumatra bean, burnt blood, rye toast, with a malty vanilla viewed nasally from the neck. Dark brown head with soufflé texture forming atop soda-sized bubbles that destruct to leave smaller ones, and far less top. Iron and copper with baked red clay aromas come to the fore; after the pour. Malty, dark chocolate presides over charred vanilla, with Butter brickle in ashen mud. Tasty, and a fortified meal at 10.5 abv. I recommend knife and fork.

Apr 21st, 2014This expedition stout is what you want to drink after a long and cold journey on a 5 day trip on the snowmobile or after 12 minutes in the frigid water in the ice hole. Aka perfect for a long weekend on the UP. Full on dark coffee sludge up front. Followed by tar and old motor oil. With a hint of sun drenched asphalt. Ending with a lightly burnt barely. Wow this stout takes you places.
