#theoldmanswine. Really nice showing. Truthfully this was in contention for wine of the night. (For me anyway). Part of a flight of 93s because hey 93, but they all didnt really gel for me the way they should have.

Not quite at the level of their 1990, but just kept getting better as dinner went on. Jacques Seysses' signature cinnamon, earthy, metallic, and savory style Clos de la Roche - rocked it in '93!

1993. pale tawny. Nose of tomato, meat, a bit of bitter dust, still fresh smelling, the soul of cherries underneath. Very fresh on the palate with crisp acidity, soft tannins but chewy. Flavours of tomatoes and cherries in the evolving mid-palate. The finish however seems short.

Saspirilla, wormwood, cherry cola. These flavors covered up the depth that was present and lingering. I wish we had opened this earlier. I’m hoping it could have made a good showing.
