Decanted for 3 hours before dinner. Dark, opaque color - darker than the Barolo next to it. Really nice nose. Notes of dark fruit, leather, tobacco leaf, old desk and some dried violets. Nice weight and texture in the mouth. Surprisingly bright and tasty finish. In a great place. Give it air!

Jan 29th, 2022Dark and opaque. Closed at first but opened up with air. Notes of black fruit, some menthol, some wood and some moist black soil. Nice in the mouth. One dimensional though and not particularly exciting. Probably needed more air.

Jun 16th, 2020Darker scarlet, almost opaque. Masculine meaty nose at first, but with air this softens and shows notes of black cherries, earth, cedar, spice and a little menthol. Nicely balanced in the mouth showing lots of fruit. Great finish. Great showing. Give it air.

Expectations are a bitch! Could tell this one was going to be a bit shut down out of the gates. Lots of material there and beautiful acid, just seemed to be holding back. Broad shouldered aromatics but certainly in an awkward stage. Nothing advanced about this wine.
