Excellent colour, really looking quite youthful.
Good concentration on the nose, dense, firm with classy, ripe black cherry and plum fruit with suave touch of oak. Also has notes of new leather, Chinese 5 spice and wet clay.
Lighter in the mouth than the nose would suggest with less character shiny through, still has some primary red & black berry fruit though lacks real character. Slick but rather boring.

Perfect end to Premiere Napa Valley is a pre 1990-Bordeaux Dinner to re-calibrate from all the barrel samples.

'85 side by side. Pepper, black tea and salted plum. Gorgeous acid. 10 years to go at least.

Full points! Best wine I have had in a while. $175 through wine-searcher, and worth it! This is supposedly an off year for this wine, but other vintages are way more expensive, and this was still terrific!!!
