It’s a good solid wine. Off top it was a little toooooo...too. Given a smidge if time and air it is friendly and basic but balanced. And balanced is my favorite characteristic in wine. This is workaday wine. This is lower on the Columbia rung—I’ve had ones from them I like more but this one is thoroughly enjoyable.

Mar 24th, 2018Big vanilla notes and dark red cherry on the nose and tongue. Nice intensity of flavors on the nose, but the wine is over-big and slightly unbalanced on the palate. The acid is still a bit too intense despite this being a 2014 vintage. I wanted a little more tannin to balance the big fruit and vanilla notes versus the acid. Nice wine overall, but not enough to be great.

Bit of vanilla and such on the nose. Flavor is decent. Chewy and ripe. Plenty of toffee and fairly sweet. Good enough, but not extra-ordinary.
