Reserve Cattoo Lodi Zinfandel

This is a full bodied red, dark and rich and drier than most Zinfandels. It tastes of red currant, boysenberry, and green pepper, with a mineral flavor and a touch of black pepper spice to the finish.

This Lodi Zin is nicely balanced, avoiding both the super-sweet jam bomb and the sky-high alcohol styles. Rather, it exhibits the excellent Lodi fruits of blackberry and red currant, with just enough residual sugar to avoid tartness.

This Zinfandel is creamy with some residual sugar but not an alcohol bomb. It tastes of currants and oak, with a bit of leather to the tingly finish.

Nice crisp zin blend. Great with ratatouille and pan fried trout. Almost finished after taste, semi dry, very pleasant.

Really enjoyed this bottle. It was great with spaghetti and afterwards by itself.

Ever so slightly chalky, notes of dates, figs, and walnuts. Smells a bit like plums, musty.
