2005 still has the charm. And the salinity.

Plenty of dark fruits (Blackberry), very interesting savory notes (fennel seed, tarragon and hint of mint) and some dampness.. High Acid which balances the alcohol and a medium finish.

Decant this for at least an hour. True to form the Sea Smoke Pinot Noir wines are better with a few years age. A nice Burgundy hue, the nose is reticent, slowly evolving red fruits like strawberry rhubarb, cherries and cedar. The palate is medium bodied with fine tannins and a supple but decent finish that adds a savory touch. I still think the Southing bottling is the sweet spot in the Sea Smoke lineup of wines. #pinot #santabarbara #staritahills

Starting brown on the rim. Cherry, cola raspberry and sweet tannins. Lot’s of good fruits at age 18. Very Burgundian.
