Vintage 2000 - outstanding richness and body, still lovely after all those years. Wood, chocolate, tobacco, saddle and ripe forest fruits - all this in perfect harmony. And rounded with alcohol and natural glycerine... An unforgettable experience.

I’m impressed with the quality for price on this wine from Costco. Black currants and raspberry on the nose, with the same fruits on the palate, but with leather and milk chocolate. This wine has a creamy feel, with gravel minerals and a good balance of acidity and tannins.

This was the last bottle of a case I bought when Susan and I still lived in Santiago, Chile. It had to be early 1998 or late '97. For years it sat in my cellar, gathering dust and memories, waiting for the right moment. Tonight the moment arrived. But did I wait too long? The agony of suspense! For a 21-year-old, this Chilean was amazingly present and alive with tannins, acidity and black cherry flavors. Oh, how I wish I had another.

Sadly, too old, the deep red had a tinge of brown. On opening the bottle the smell was relatively flat and tasting after decanting for twenty minutes was again flat, very soft on the palate, a bit like the life and spirit had left this bottle!
