Ruby in color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Very dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing black cherries, spices, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.

Long spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 9 year old Grenache from California is drinking very nicely now. Light and engaging with a nice mouthfeel. Elegant, spicy and easy drinking.

Good right out of the bottle, and so much better after 2 hours. I did not decant it and let it open up in the glass.

I had this vintage 4 years ago, and decided to give it a few more years in the bottle to mature, and see how it evolves. Good call on my part. It is really tasty now. So much better.

I gave it a light chill and had it with light appetizers.

A small production of only 10 barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$32 (at release).

Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

On the nose cherries, raspberries, strawberries, light oak, licorice, spices, light vegetables, earth and pencil lead.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with red currants, cherries, sweet strawberries, oak, smoke, vegetables, earth, spices, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and black pepper.

Spicy and tangy finish with soft tannins and bitter herbs.

This is an easy drinking and elegant Grenache from California. Showing mild complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Nicely balanced and spicy with nicely integrated alcohol.

A good everyday wine to pair with food or to sip on by the porch. Nicer with a light chill.

Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows some tannins ( 30 minutes). After 90 minutes, it gets even better, so be patient.

A very small production, only 10 barrels produced.

I paired it with Brie cheese and crackers.

Wish I had better notes. Ethereal, pure, lifted and elegant tannins. Lovely sweet spice notes that shinned through like ceylon and balsam. More pinot-esque style of Grenache.

A lovely Grenache, although heavier than I'm used to. Randy & Brooke are the bomb! 💣💥🍷

Really delicious California Grenache introduced to me by @Shay Aldriedge - this was great. Aromas of leather and cloves on the nose. The palate is fruit-drive with strawberry, raspberry, and this is weird: I taste pink grapefruit. The finish has a touch of black pepper and vanilla. This is medium bodied with a balance between acidity and tannins. There's a bit of heat on this at the moment. Overall a really fun wine and very easy drinking. Thanks for sharing this with me Shay!

Absolutely LOVED tasting wines with Randy Hester of Lightning Wines. As a fellow Texan, it was such a treat for us. Lightning is producing some of the most unique and awesome Rhone varietals in the valley. Their Grenache is a top 5 for me without a doubt, and their Texas label is the best TX wine I've ever tasted. Super food friendly, berry medley heavy, light oak, spicy on the finish. Great tasting experience. @Martin G Rivard , great Grenache! I need to send you one.

Bought this on a lark because I was intrigued by the only 10 barrels produced marketing. When I first opened it up it was just too hot and tannic and needed to breath. Thanks to a combination of lots of cooking and a good book I actually forgot about drinking it steadily and as such left it open for over an hour. The wine I came back to was a delicious, fruity, earthy, and well-balanced wine. The long long exposure I had left it in the glass and bottle really let it develop into something juicier with a better flavor profile. Baked ripe fruit, bright acidity, dark flavors of Cassis and Black Berry.

Really bright red fruit. Plush tannin and fresh acidity. Had it for a harvest lunch and everyone loved it.
