Unusually dense and luscious, even for Forge! Honey, apricot, pineapple, blood orange flavors all over the mid palate. Good balance of acid backbone and rounded contours on the finish. Very effusive and powerful wine.

Landing their 2018 Classique as #31 on Wine Spectators best of 2020 list inspired me to open a 2018 of my own. This is the Sunrise Hill vineyard. They take dry riesling to another level. Aged in Neutral Oak with a natural fermentation. Perfectly balanced with a complex body and mouthfeel and a crisp albeit short finish that leaves you longing for more. Superb.

As with the other Forge Rieslings I've tried, the 2014 Sunrise Hill Vineyard is lithe and electric. it possesses tactile, nervy tension. The nose is somewhat reserved, though swirling reveals white flowers, lime zest, mint and a pinch of granulated honey. It feels very pure—at the core, a bracing, linear expression is accented by lemon pith, and Asian pear that slowly, ever so slowly, dwindles to a slightly chalky finish. Nice with fried oysters. 12.5% ABV | Sample

Very nice. Purchased during our wine tasting visit to Forge. Unlike most Resiling, this wine has more body and is very easy to drink! Paired with salmon, broccoli, sweet potato fries and steamed white rice. Perfect wine for the summer.

Focused, clean citrus fruit, supported by a minerality, a touch of honey, and penetrating acidity. Nice.

Honeysuckle, nectarine, and menthol. Paired with spicy stir fried spring asparagus. Gonna cellar a bottle and report back later.
