2009. Nice cab. Inky color, cassis, toast, vanilla (American oak?), dried herbs, mushroom, menthol/eucalyptus and nice acid. Really good time to drink, but can easily go longer.

I’ve had better vintages of this cab.

Blackberry, vanilla, black cherry, raspberry, licorice and oak. Great structure and soft tannins.

This cab is great to drink now or lay down. May not compete with high end Napa cab but has a great price point. It's a blend of cab, cab franc and petit Verdot. Good steak pairing, especially with a blue cheese crumble. High and dry with a nice finish. Would age nicely. Ten years to play with this wine.

Happy to try this Santa Barbara Cab from Happy Canyon! Not as murky many Napa Cabs can be but just as intense. Still too young.

Inky, black color with thick legs. Aromas of tea leaves, tobacco, sage, dried cherry, plum, vanilla, elderflower, wet earth, licorice, and other dried herbs. Medium + body and tannins. Cherry compote and other black fruits on the palate. Still has considerable room to improve with bottle age. Excellent Santa Barbara Cab!

A restrained and old world style with nice aging potential. The nose was well integrated but lacked defining characteristics for me. The palate was ripe with firm but round tannins and present acidity. Graphite along with just ripened black fruit. Opened nicely with time in the glass. #starlane #happycanyon #santabarbara #cabersauvignon #malbec #california #usa #ctbucklinwine

The beginning.... Silky texture, balanced, concentrated, richness on finish with remarkably integrated tannins. And still young!
