Sec Bordeaux Sauvignon de Saguin

Melon, quince, grassy, med acid. For the price ($6.00 at Trader Joe’s), it’s quite nice.

Clear pale lemon color, dry and medium bodied with medium plus acid. Surprisingly fuller bodied and lower acid than is usual for a Sauvignon Blanc. Clean and expressive with citrus and herbal notes. Citrus, green bell pepper and mineral/slate notes on the palate leading to a short finish. Simple, low cost sipping white. Good for the price.

Nose: melon, salt, green apple. A little honeysuckle.

Taste: anonymous and a little boozy - way less acidity and fruit then I was expecting, almost a bit savoury. It’s fine, but definitely needs food - probably fish. 86.

Nice dry white wine. Pairs well with fish and lite pasta dishes.
