Nose is ripe and a bit less expressive than the 12. But a bit vulgar and overripe. Tar, ripe cassis, and tobacco. Palate is ripe, silky and nice enough but lack energy and distinction. I’d drink this. Long finish. Pretty good purity.

Oct 3rd, 2020Nice nose of tobacco, cassis, earth and mineral. Tar as well. Deep. Palate is dark, deep, rich and brooding. Dense, structured and ripe, and showing youthful elements at 8 years of age. Long finish. I see air helping here. Cascading layers of fruit will fan out more. Serious structure and big tannins.

More elegant and Bordeaux like. Suvereto is putting out some great wine albeit in an old world restrained style. I like this style. #italy #tuscany #supertuscan

De la region Toscana, Italy 🇮🇹 2012 vintage. excellent. . Cab 70% Merlot 30%.. Dark berry, medium tanning, long finish, oak, smoke ..Just terrific wine!!!.

Smooth fine tannins, but strong & young. Bit if smoke and earth. Once it got enough air it was quite good.

This 2011 Petra is a varietal Sangiovese from vineyards near the town of Suvereto, on the hills of the Val di Corona. A modern winery in a region the with vine growing roots (no pun intended) going back to the Greeks and Etruscans. Even after an hour in the decanter this wine has not fully opened. In spite of that, it is still very smooth on the palate with a noticeable earthiness, leather, tobacco and quite a bit of licorice on the finish. Good and juicy acidity, yet tannins are a little tight. Will definitely benefit from a little more ageing.

May 14th, 2017(15.5/20) Несколько прямолинейное вино с ароматом чёрных ягод, кожи и ванили. Агрессивная структура - высокая, не вполне интегрированная кислотность и вяжущие танины. Алкоголь несколько выпирает во вкусе.
