Casa Viola Columbia Valley Red Blend

Oregon Red Wine, not Columbia Valley designation, non-vintage, 14.5% alc. Purple red in color. Plum, cherry, black currant, fruit leather and barrel notes in nose. Cherry in mouth, some bubble gum and spritz, mostly Pinot noir with some gamay, Syrah or similar varietal. Some cola and puckery skin tannin astringency on finish evolves into cherry and mouth coating astringency and seed bitterness. Decent fruit, tannin structure takes some aeration and time to reveal. Additional aging an option

Had at tasting in Portland. Angad liked it better than me. Structured mineral bitter blend.

Not too shabby - had the quirky vibes I expected from an organic wine and a lot of sediment at the bottom

About $40, mild fruity notes, medium tannins.
