The 2016 Chateau Ste. Michelle ‘Artist Series’ Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the best ‘Artist Series’ wines I have sampled in the past twenty vintages of tasting this wine. On the nose this hedonistic Cabernet Sauvignon takes on Turkish coffee, alongside black cherry cordial and shades of sandalwood aromas that all are delightfully woven together in the glass. The palate evokes a plush and decadent edge, unveiling a silky mouthfeel and beautifully soft texture. Dense flavors of Black Forest Cake, tar, black tea and shades of exotic spices all dance on the mouth. While enticing and seductive in its youth, this outstanding ‘Artist Series’ Will cellar well for a decade or more. Drink 2019-2033- 93

Chateau Ste. Michelle’s 2013 Artist Series Red is an elegant composition of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 3% Malbec, and 3% Cab Franc, with 85% of the fruit sourced from Cold Creek Vineyard. This is also winemaker Bob Bertheau’s favorite wine to blend, one where he’s given free reign. Freshly turned earth, black currants, cassis, sweet tobacco, and kirsch round out the nose. On the palate, it’s softly textured with mouth filling tannins. The balance of tannin to fruit is particularly nice in the Bordeaux-style blend. 14.5% ABV | Sample

Pretty decent. Losing a bit of the brighter fruit (not a bad thing), darker fruit is starting to come through. Definitely a Bourdeaux blend. Best with food.

Very good wine. Reminds of Sonoma terroir. Has a new world style with nice nods to traditional French blends. Elegant

This is a nice Cab-heavy blend from CSM. Accidentally left this in the garage for a few weeks but it is still good. Smoothed out nicely with a lot of fruit still left.

Great Cabin visit. Fixed roof, saved some lost hikers and had this great wine and watched movies.

Major funk on the nose when I first opened it. Let it breathe for a bit and it was fantastic. Will be good for several more years if you have multiple bottles.

Huge big dark cherry and licorice nose. Mineral and clean finish with monster tannins. Paired with USDA prime filet mignon and peppercorn sauce e just out of this world.

Phenomenal. Lots of mineral and huge tannins. Dry on the back of the tongue but fruity up front.
