Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir

Wild blackberry, cherries, tar(?) tastes more like pinot noir than the normal mark west. Not bad. #chairmansselection PA $11.99

A decent wine, not super sweet, but I prefer a few more notes/something just a little more complex.

Very light bodied; rich cherry juice; low tannins; pretty simple

A better, lightly fruited effort than the Willamette.

Very silky and smooth. Had at Renee and Alan’s.

Worked for me, but this is where I learned Curtis isn’t into Mark West

Probably underrated because it's Mark West, a Rodney Dangerfield wine, dummy! 2017. A former "boat wine" for a summer day. Nicely balanced medium body great nose but thin legs - subtle berry flavor, not deep but "evident", and I don't get the chocolate and toast - weird to me - but still a tasty everyday drinker. Not expensive. Way lighter in flavor and body than the full flavor better to best Pinots of the Santa Lucia Highlands except for the tannins...still silky, smooth and subtle...will drink again but have no idea where I bought it (?).

Typical Pinot up front. Smooth peppery almost Zinfandel like finish. Complex wine for the money.
