My last of the sacrificial 14's, until the Bevan's show up at least, buy some if you can.
Mike Smith has this & the Scarlett Reserve hitting on all cylinders, especially at $125.00

So close to being WOTN but just beat out by the 2010 Buccella. Deep and dark ruby red. Tons of cassis, blackberries, and thick baking spices. A little something dirty too almost like a strong cheese. Heavy tannins (8/10) with a powerful body, close to the Buccella but needs time to beef up a bit. Lots of cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, cassis and black raspberries on the palate. Killer structure and lots of balance for being so young. Super long finish. So good we had to go back and order the rest of our allocation! Drink from 2018 till 2036+. Approachable now but needs a couple hour decant. (97+)

@David L thank you for sending this bottle to Jennifer and I. Yet again you gift a fine example of Mike Smith work. This is my first time having Becklyn, it won't be the last. Drinks very well at a young age, typical with Mike's wines. Needs a minimum of 2 hours of decanting. Graceful and polished, tiers of plum black currant and smoked blackberry jam. With most of the fruit that comes from Moulds Vineyard I get this cedar and anise of the finish. Drinks well now! Thank you David!

Tasted up against the 2014 Round Pond Left Bank Blend. This wine is still a baby, did not show up like the last bottle we tried. It must be in one of those shut down phases, we hope.

Deep purplish ruby red. Nose is coated in sweet spices and blueberries on the attack. A little bit of white pepper too with an odd touch of perfumey greenery. A touch stinky too. Heavy rounded tannins (7/10) and medium to full bodied. Dark berries on the palate but it needed around three hours to finally start opening up on the palate. Long and lingering finish. Will probably leave our next bottle for another two to three years before trying another. Drink from 2019 till 2037. (92+)
