Oikonomoy Crete Liatiko

I’ve compared this to warmer Nebbiolo with its striking rose petal bouquet, with some tart red cherry, spice and a little herbaciousness in the mix. Finishes with a touch of heat.

If this looks like something you can't even begin to understand, you need to track one down.

This wine... is mental. Olives, salt, toffee, oil, funk.
I wish I had some Jamon on hand to go with it.

Interesting find - firm gum line tannins. Prune, earth and cherry. Felt very Italian. Classic.

Brent's description was spot on: traces of Musar, some Brett that blows off quickly, a spot of VA, bruised dark fruit and a woodsy component with acidity for days! Really fun bottle.

A lot like memories of Crete - forward lushness with a distinctly refined classical restraint and purity. Hillside scrubby herbs, olive skin tannin and flesh. Beautiful fruit and slightly charred edge.

This wine blew me away! The nose is a power punch of tobacco and black fruit but the flavor and body is light / medium and silky smooth. Truly amazing!

Amazingly complex and like nothing I’ve had before. Almost no fruit on the nose or palate. Funky, leathery, salty, and smoky. Tannins are present and well integrated. Closest reference would be a Bordeaux blend. Awesome wine.

Light on the nose, red dark fruit, easy finish, perfect cheese pairing
