Intriguing wine - the Barbera nicely rounds out the Sangiovese tannins making it incredibly food-friendly. Palate is perfectly balanced if not particularly showy. Somehow I opened it under ideal circumstances - by myself on a Thursday night with a salad and a pan-seared filet mignon. A sublime little evening after getting the kids to bed...

60% Sangiovese, 40% barbera. Uncommon blend (Italians don’t make this). Moderately heavy, viscous mouth feel, but doesn’t feel flabby. Love love love
