Exotic aromatics. Black pepper, lavender, and dark fruits all come off like they've been infused with Tangerine peel oil. High-toned and slightly bitter, but better for it. I could sit and smell this wine over and over. Very Côte Rotie.

Baked blueberry and cherry sauce, violet, smoked meat. Killer value. Like an inexpensive Cornas. Holding up well three days later. Upped the rating a bit.

Cool critter label. Dark and murky. Smells of prune and cherry compote. Also leather. Flavors are juicy, strong and ripe. Licorice streak is nice. Also minty and zippy with the acid.
