Yesterday I wa treated to my first taste of Olsen Perri's killer Central Coast Pinot, made right here in San Diego. Glossy and luscious, yet balanced and restrained.

Great wine. Chocolate cherries on the nose, plum, cedar in the background. Hints of age on the palate but still very fresh with vibrant cherry cola acidity. Good stuff and looking forward to trying later vintages.

Purplish red with thin clarity. Aromas of violets, chocolate covered strawberries and incense. Light bodied, high in acidity, low in tannin. Flavors of tart cherries, strawberries, and just a tiny taste of dirt. Frickin yummy!

Applaud the effort of this new wine making team. However it's not where it needs to be in balance of fruit and acid. Look forward to future wines.
