Pre-Ridge acquisition Lytton Springs. Upon opening this had a terrible musty smell, beyond what I am used to wines recovering from, and I was close to dumping it out, but as it turns out I'm glad that I didn't. After about 3 hours this opened up to become a subtly red fruited and spicy treat. Still structured with light dusty tannins. Has a gold medal sticker from the 1989 Orange County Fair so it must be good.

Wine of the night for me and there were tons of great wines at the Russian River Valley Paulée Dinner 2016. Complex cigar-box, spice-cake dried cherry, soil. Great texture.
