Imbalanced red fruit…is there R.S. in this?

Blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 2% Petite Sirah, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, herb spice and smoky oak scents. On the palate flavors of black cherry and plums with cinnamon, licorice and cacao, lively acidity. Fine ripe round tannins, well balanced, long finish ending with fruit, tobacco and earthy character.

Soft nose. Strong flavor. Will revise my rating after an hour devant.

Very young. Tannins owned the day for this tasting. Could imagine a bold Cab in a few more years. Opened up a bit over few minutes to provide peek at dark fruit in hiding.

Bought mtn fruit. Of the big cabs at Odette and cade this was my favorite. Brighter red fruit. Hibiscus. Very clean.

Happy Birthday Neal! Drank next to the 2014 Cade. More expressive nose than the former and the lightness carries through to the palate. That being said, it lacks the concentration of the Cade and seems a touch shallow in comparison. They call this baby PlumpJack...whatever. Fun to try them back to back. Better value than the Cade.

2013 vintage. Entry level from Odette Estate. Intense dark berries and (seemingly new) oak. Layers of slightly jammy black fruit, good tannic bite and nice length. Very attractive, but I feel it lacks a bit of soul.

I'm really liking this Adaptation by Odette (Plumpjack's newish winery). A 2012 that is totally approachable right now. You don't often call a Napa Cab "elegant", but that's precisely what this wine is - no doubt thanks to 22% Beckstoffer Oak Knoll Merlot. It's admittedly not a long finish, but that's not what this wine is trying to do. This is a crowd pleaser

Finally getting around to posting Day 5 in Napa, our final day. 5 years in a row visiting...hope to make it 6 next year!

Dominant cab with around 15% merlot to soften it out. It’s very plush in style with fairly soft tannins but definitely worthy of a short decant. Blackberry, cassis, plum, black cherry and dark cocoa.

A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot, 4% Malbec & 2% Petite Sirah. Deep Ruby with dark fruit aromas and herb spice. On the palate black cherry, raspberry and blackberry flavors with underlying sweetness, notes of cacao, forest floor and oaky notes. Fine tannins, good structure and balance, long finish ending with espresso and earthy notes. Nice
