Aug 15th, 20154th wine of my birthday blind tasting. I found the right country but not the right varietal 😅.
Very flinty nose, hay, white flower, a bit of lemon zest too which is what tipped me off I think (I thought it was a German riesling). There was a bit of co2 upon opening too which is one more reason for me calling it a riesling blind.
The palate is clearly not that of a riesling, now that I now, but hey 😁. Long and bright palate with some width, some very vivid mouthfeel, some grip, a tiny touch of lemon zest. The grip is tightening in the rear and powers up a long, fresh, subtly zesty finish. This is a good one!
Edit. The wine opened after an hour or so and some nice underlying peachy and peary notes popped on the palate, making it delicious. One more point

minerals and chalk on the nose and palate, some mild citrus flavor, very dry but a medium, smooth mouthfeel. easy drinking, great with our ceviche!
