The bouquet was a bit disappointing but otherwise ok. A good way to demonstrate a perfect food wine to the uninitiated ... right after uncorking had aftertastes of prosciutto. Had hints of floral aroma after about 2hrs of opening. Quite astringent initially (as expected of a Barolo) but the tanins almost dissolve when paired with food (in this case a ragu of beef) and elevates the whole experience. Also quite good with Parmigiano drizzled with good balsamic vinegar.
