First wine from Nautilus Estate of Marlborough was released in 1985. Aromas of tropical fruits and herb floral spice. On the palate apple and peach flavors with grapefruit citrus notes, vivid acidity, nicely balanced, medium finish ending with slight spicy notes.

Great NZ Sauvignon Blanc, especially at the price point. Has a nice extra mineral note from the ancient nautilus shell containing soils.

Very typical Marlborough SB. Fresh cut green grass, grapefruit, asparagus and a hint of flinty nose. Refreshing on the palate.

I’ve been drinking a lot of very citrusy New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc lately. This one is a bit of a change. It has the expected citrus, acidity, and minerality riding on apples. But it’s also got pears, peaches, and flowers. Still , it’s pretty acidic, and maybe best with food. All the usual suspects should work. I had it with roasted cod and herbs and tomatoes.

Excellent new world SB. Soaring, tropical aromatics. Palate is vibrant with a display of clean fruits and delicate minerals. Persistent finish. Really great for less than $15
