Limited Edition Very Old Single Harvest Porto

Maple candy! Not cloying at all. Hits hard after breathing for 2hrs with all the salted roasted pecans.

Best Port sampled in Porto so far. Barreled in 1967, bottled 2016 and quite amazing. Raisins and caramel throughout, honey velvet mouthfeel with a lingering finish that lasted and evolved for minutes after each sip. A treat and honor to be able to taste this one!

Very cool! Alcohol hits the nostrils in a negative fashion initially but once settled down (and brought down on temperature), it blossoms. Aged fudge, honey, molasses and candied dark fruits intermingle with dried figs, white raisins and dates; nuttiness too. Lots going on, but lacks subtlety considering its age.

Excellent taste. Transparent brownish color. Does not smell fruity. Smooth no hard alcohol taste.

Once again: I'm not a porto fan. And this one is The exception. Maybe because it's 50 years old, whether it's f.ckin' good. Smooth, elegant, with coffee, honey sweetness and very long finish. Best porto I've ever had. And probably the last one.
