Not much of a departure from the 2014 version. Red and black fruits with some baking spice and vanilla. Perhaps the oak wasn’t quite as lavish with this one...or maybe it was slightly better integrated. Regardless, it’s good at the sale price of $22; probably a disappointment at the regular price of $40. Drink now through 2022.

This was an interesting one, picked up for $20 but I think it retails for over $40. At the $20 price point, it delivers. Dark fruited, tobacco, vanilla...lavishly oaked. It’s a wine that was proudly made and a more than decent quaffer but it’s not terribly exciting. At the normal price, it wouldn’t be very good QPR IMO.

Sage and other herbs on the nose. Blackberry fruit on the silky palate. Plenty of oak, mostly new, add grippy tannins leading to a fine finish. This one will improve with bottle age to be sure.

Big red berries. Nice and dry. Lacking a great finish.

A nice discovery. Nice vanilla undertones, vibrant fruit. A winner.
