Deep purplish ruby red. Layered nose with light sweet spices, raspberries, dark cocoa, cranberries, and a little vanilla. Can tell that it has some solid oak aging. Integrated with solid acidity (must be from the Pinot Noir) and medium tannins (6.5/10). Fresh palate with some floral notes, cranberries, anise, a bit herbal and some black cherries. Long finish. Drink till 2023.

Deep and dark purplish ruby red. Tons of dark spices on the nose with dark cocoa, cinnamon, anise, dark raspberries and cranberries. Medium tannins (6.5/10) with apparent and balanced acidity. Layered palate with cranberries, cherries, tobacco leaves, and a touch of earthiness. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2023.

Old Bordeaux blend...usually but this vintage has 25% Pinot Noir. Hopefully the 2014 is back to straight Bordeaux varietals.

Deep and dark ruby red, completely coats the glass. Very floral on the nose with notes of raspberries and cherries. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) with a medium body and well rounded. Dark red berries and fruits as well as some twigs. A little dry in the finish with a long and lingering finish. Drink till 2023.

Deep ruby red with purplish hues. Layered nose starting off a little dirty and dusty with notes of dried dark red berries, woody notes and a light savory touch. Moderate tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus body. Palate starts off with some blue berries and layered with a mix of black raspberries, black cherries, dark cocoa, cinnamon and more dark red berries. Semi-dry medium to long finish. Drink till 2022.

Second vintage of Scalon Cellars and last wine for Thanksgiving. Floral, perfume and a not so nice cherry medicine. I honestly still feel that it needs 6+ hours of decant. Given 2 hours already. I looked up online because we were very confused where all the perfume came from. Guess where? Pinot Noir which there is 25%. I hope they do not do this next year but we will see. Tannins are high 7.5/10, and sharp body. Definitely need to wait a few years before touching these again. Ruby red with purplish rim.

Very nice for the price. Quite soft considering it has petite verdot and Petite Sirah in it

Really easy to drink smooth but lacking a bit of depth. 50 percent can and25 percent Pinot!
