The 2014 Clerc Milon has a vivacious and forward bouquet with cedar and graphite-infused black fruit, violet traces emerging with time, oozing with class. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, graphite once more defining the appellation. It's tensile and almost citrus-fresh on the finish. Plenty of energy is evident in this Pauillac, which should guarantee its longevity. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2024)

#AgedWineTuesday

Pretty color of ruby with a wide reddish rim.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

Showing black currants, cooked cherries, tobacco leaf, herbs, vegetables, light wood, licorice, coffee, light cola, vegetables and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This beautiful 24-year-old Bordeaux from the great 2000 vintage seems still young, although decanted for 4 hours.

Elegant and powerful. Rich, yet subdued. I loved the nose, that showed lots of wild flowers.

Wine Spectator 91 points. Robert Parker 92 points.

This Fifth growth is nicely balanced with nice complexity at this point. Still needs a few more years in the bottle to mature properly.

I've had many vintages of this wine, and so far the 2009 was my favorite.

Good by itself and better with food. Paired nicely with dried meats and cheeses.

12.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$150.

Red plum juice, pomegranate, dried cranberry, roasted red bell peppers. Herbs and vanilla. Soft and smooth and creamy. Clayey tannins - very grippy coating the mouth.

Capitol Region Wine Collectors Club (WCC), CA Cabernet Pre-2000; 20 April 2023 at Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY

A second bottle from BF's cellar, showing without flaws in comparison to last month's offering is a real treat to start our night of CA wines in its shadow.

Earthy (vegetal and mushroom) on the nose. However, kimchi is slowly taking over that sense because my husband decided to dig kimchi out of a jar as I was smelling. Thanks. Old red fruit. Not fruity at all, but it has a old leather and dark, bitter chocolate quality to it. There is a light bark spice on the aftertaste. Pair with pets for a St. Hubert Jura Hound, the robust Swiss mountain walking dog who’s origin dates back to the Middle Ages.

1986; Won the cork lottery on this impeccable bottle, mint, leather, dark red fruits. Post No. 2900.

Slow oxidation, +24H.

@Delectable Wine It would be great if really good wines would Trend again, as opposed to literally anything that could be 'purchased' via the Shop Banquet platform, it's just wrong and against the beautiful Community we have here. Just my 2¢.

Nose has ripe plum, cut red cherry, black currant, dried blackberry, shaved milk chocolate, old pipe tobacco, moist leather, dry oak firewood, wet oak barrel with fading volatile acidity on the initial attack.

Palate has blackberry juice, over-ripe plum, dried black currant, over-ripe black cherry, wet garden soil, dried tomato with a lightly drying finish and still showing mild tannins.

A recent acquisition, provenance is good but this bottle seems lightly undeveloped on the palate still, decanted 3H.

Paired to Allen Bros. rib caps, cast iron pan oven pre-heated then 1/2 stick of non-salted butter over the stove with constant basting, 5M to a beautiful medium rare. Served alongside our garden smashed potatoes, nothing finer than the vegetables we labor.
