It has been awhile since I have had a good Sauvignon Blanc and tonight is one of those nights. I have opened the 2017 Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand.

A beautiful expression of Sauvignon Blanc on the nose is I am getting lime, kiwi fruit, nectarine, guava, papaya, herbs and wet concrete.

The palate brings out notes of lime, green apple, white peach, grapefruit, lemongrass, and crushed stone.

This wine is medium bodied with medium + acidity and that leads into crisp clean chalky finish. The weekend is on us and it looks to be a good one so please be safe and have fun. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Today is Waitangi Day in New Zealand which is an important date in NZ's history when the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, took place - New Zealand's founding document in 1840. Therefore I thought I'd get reacquainted with an old favourite over the weekend - Wither Hills Sauv Blanc ($12). Enjoy your day off everyone in NZ!

It's a pale lemon colour on the eye with a herbaceous nose mixed with gooseberry and lemongrass. One whiff and it took me back to my university days in Auckland! It's full of flavour and lively on the palate yet not in your face. All these years later and my palate still gets along with this wine well.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes
