Jacob's Creek/Orlando
Double Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep Ruby with aromas of berry fruits with earthy notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry & blueberry with hints of currants and oak. Fine firm grippy tannins, lively acidity, medium finish ending with oak, nutty and earthy character, a little hot from the whisky barrels. Ok but I’m not a fan of the whisky barrel aging.

Nov 23rd, 20223rd vintage. A wine of genuinely remarkable quality from a mega-producer. Loads of ripe red cherry married with tons of leathery/cedary oak. Fruit cedes to mouthwatering acidity then to licorice-laden velvety tannins. Short, thin and watery/boozy on the finish but those are small quibbles at this QPR. Surprising structure given the trendy whiskey barrel finish schtick.
