Lemon with its rind, substantial tartness bitterness, and dry extract. Full but not very aromatic.

Pale to mid lemon in colour. Aromatics of fruit salad, apricot, quince - touch of white pepper and a hint of spice. Rich, creamy, opulent and flat out delicious. An aged Gruner - finishes with a twist of quincey bitterness. What a treat! My last Austrian wine - I must restock.

Phenomenal. Just a bit of RS and roundness. Super typical. Lentils for days.

Impressive!! I knew is gonna be good but not like that!! Sweet fresh fruit, smoky, ripe and generous taste, high acid and long finish.

Green and ripe. Green lentil, English pea, ginger, and honey. Palate is rich showing off the legume and honey notes, along with orange marmalade, golden apple, and horseradish.

Yes it's Smaragd, but really pushing the ripeness bar a bit too far here... Hides the fruit and mineral character. Glossy and viscous.

2013 vintage. Classic Pichler style, offering super-ripe apricots, orange marmalade and marzipan flavors, with spicy minerality and just enough acidity to balance its richness. While concentrated, the alcohol still shines thru on the intense finish.

2012 vintage. Smaragd. Lemon oil, peaches, apricots, almonds, and lime. River rocks, lush texture with notes of creme brûlée med+ acidity ++finish. Great wine!

Way too young despite the 24 hour decant.
