No formal notes. I have several previous Delectable Notes here. You could easily think this was new world with the passion fruit and tropical fruit flavours. The oak maturation adds a creamy textural note. No point in further cellaring I would say but an easy drinking wine now.

I believe this was the second year Chateau Louviere used the Stelvin enclosure on their wines and this may have contributed positively to the experience with this bottle, considering it’s age and rather questionable provenance. The wine pours a sort of burnished gold color, slightly hazy. On the nose, the wine is a little funky with peach, orange, tangerine, lemon, yellow flowers, and wet ashy forest floor. On the palate, desiccated stone fruits and citrus fruits with some vanilla and a nutty marzipan-like thing. Medium+ acid, medium alcohol. Finish is medium+ finish, slightly bitter and slightly sherried but overall really quite satisfying and universally enjoyed.

A creamy textural palate with a touch of pineapple juice on the 2nd night Barbara thought. Back Story: Andre Lurton who bought this property in 1965 is an aficionado of Sauvignon Blanc, and Semillon is very much in the minority in this blend. Usually 85/15. Great match with fresh prawns. One of the 1001 wines.

Sep 7th, 2020Pale to mid lemon in colour. Notes of pear and spice and hint of verbena. Oak influence is light and well managed. The palate leans towards the opulent. Notes of mandarin with medium acidity. A medium cellaring future - very easy to like. Next one in the summer. I believe the blend is mainly Sauvignon Blanc over the Semillon.

Contrary to the header for this wine the 2015 La Louvière is not a blend, it is 100% Sauvignon Blanc. It is understated at first, with a soft floral, vanilla and citrus accented bouquet but it opens beautifully on the palate with a lovely spice note. Fine structure, long finish

Not everyone's style, but it is mine. Oxidized, but reminds me of Selosse Initial. Soy sauce notes. Still has good acid is the thing...

Fun little treat from Victor at the Vienna Vintner.
Medium golden yellow. Nose started off with buttered popcorn, something a little herbal, like sage and a little wax. Medium acidity (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Tart and tangy on the palate with some dark apricots and dark citrus notes. Short plus to medium length finish. Drink now.
