Nice. On the edge but with time opened to a beautiful wine. Lean and somewhat fruitless but tasting history.

This and the '78 started day 2 of Favre-a-thon 4.0 at Jardeniere in SF. I thought both had faded a bit and were on the downward slope. At first I wasn't sure if I had palate fatigue because I don't have substantial experience with these wines. That seemed to be the table consensus however. They both had a bruised pear quality with a disappearing finish. Better things were to come.....quickly.

Woah.. Daddy Coche...super interesting. Maybe a touched developed for the family name but that could be me having had too many of JF's wines. Decant for sure

Killer Meursault! So fresh and youthful. Wish I had bought more.

A very resolved nose with hints of honey, a sherry note, still good minerality and clarity but clearly mature. On the palate, lovely relaxed fruit with a touch of lanolin. Gentle and balanced. Long with good acidity. Very nice

Unlike any other wine I've had, this bottle was in perfect condition. It smelled like fresh rain, tasted like salted green apple peel with a savory burnt sugar finish. Eventually it opened up to show truffles.

For a wine with this age I was surprised by how open and clean the nose was. The palate I found somewhat clenched and not giving except for some faint damp earth. But like a genie stuck in a lamp for 33 years before you can even ask it was granting you wine wishes. A nose and palate that never stopped evolving. A very special night.

Typical Batard, but on the light side. Lost out to the Corton of the night.
