En Orveaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Both wines singing! The 2010 the much finer of the two, still incredibly youthful.

So much elegance in this one. Somewhat muted on the nose at first, but opened up and showed loads of red fruit, floral notes, and earthiness. Not much life left in it, but still holding on and so tasty

Good not great.

Cathiard well deserving of praise. Somewhat flashy but a showstopper

A good example that some domaines made amazing wines in 06

Corked

Quite deep still clinging to ruby with a wide quite garnet rim. On the nose touches of sous bois , spice , red fruits , cherry , raspberry and strawberry , porcini . On the palate quite rich and rounded with sweet black cherry , fresh strawberry, raspberry , very good acidity and rounded but quite grippy tannins . In a lovely spot now but will go further , for now and over the next 10 years.

Took a while to open but when it did - on point, red of the night by some margin
