Nice entry level Jaboulet. Rustic Rhone red with lots of G & S, but no M.

Another ventoux for investigation reasons @Peter van den Besselaar☺️
This time it's a big wine merchant's wine. The nose is full of blackberry scents, olive, garigue and a tiny bit of leather. The palate is made of a big acid backbone, a good width, a nice blackberry note, a good width, some weight on the sides and some lively tannins in mid palate that kick things up a notch or 2! There is a great drying effect that defines a very long blackberry and bacon (?) finish. Above average cdn but not the best ventoux I've had. I expected a bit more freshness

Grenache and Syrah, very easy drinking. Bit of pepper but quite light. Had with crab linguine which went surprisingly well.

Jan 29th, 2021After a vodka martini at the grill, sat down for intimate dinner of porterhouse, broccoli & purple potatoes. Stood up to the Dijon mustard & jalapeños I plated with. Pleasing mouthfeel & flavor.
