Mother’s Day tipple - something a little different with an English Rose sparkling. Pale salmon in colour with a very fine bead. Strawberry notes on nose and palate. Very fresh, restrained and elegant. Well made and thoroughly enjoyable. A blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 38% Pinot Meunière and 2% Pinot Precoce - the latter variety I had never heard of.

Feb 6th, 2021An interesting blend of 60% Pinot Noir, 38% Pinot Meunière, 2% Pinot Precoce, (never heard of this last grape type) 7% barrel fermented. A delicious sparkling from England showing strawberry notes on nose and palate.

Especially impressed with the acidity. Also, forced me to research what the hell Pinot Noir Précoce is.

Sep 2nd, 2017Thanksgiving wine number 2. The first of many popped after guests arrived. This poured a nice salmon color into the glass with good bubbles. The entry of this wine is strawberries and young red raspberry. More on the medium-bodied side. This one went to a little bit of tart in the middle, and the finish was a little bit flat with a dried walnut and cranberry characteristic. This complemented Mesquite bean jelly with chili pequin and roasted pecans quite well. Very nice aperitif to the meal, and a nice segue from white wine to red. As far as longevity goes, I definitely think this one has a few more years left before it is time to pop the cork. Just a bit underwhelming.
