#brett funky and expensive. #bairrada apparently is always going to be a risk as far as funkiness and defects are concerned, but at around 40€ a bottle, give me an excellent Spanish wine, a Douro or a Bordeaux for that matter.

Very fresh almost Gamay like nose. Floral as well with a bit of funk. Blind I’d say natural red Loire. Palate is elegant and juicy with nice fruit and velvety tannins. Bright cranberry and berry fruit. Tannins turn a bit rustic on the finish. Decent length.

Light and fresh. Reminds me of high quality frappato. Very refreshing on the palate with acidity, mineral and red fruit.

Dark clear ruby color; complex nose of intense red fruits, mushrooms, and dirty flowers; at only 11.5% alcohol the mouth feel is rather thin and the tannins almost imperceptible but the high acid levels brings out the aromas from the nose in an usual but satisfying finish. A unique Portugese wine on the Baga grape that worked well with a shell fish dish.

RAD. Bright fruit, lively acidity, taut tannins. Like next level gamay.

Baga wine has a reputation of firmness and that one must age it for many years to let the staunch personality of oyouth mellow...well here is a different spin on it that is much more approachable in its youth.

Is Baga the Nebbiolo of Portugal?

Very shy and closed when I tasted it. Feel like I didn't get a proper feel for the wine.
