The 2022 Sancerre is a tender, rounded wine with delicate pineapple, floral and pear aromas. It's gentle with a fine line of ripe acidity, providing gentle refreshment. (Rebecca Gibb MW, Vinous, July 2023)

We really love the first tier bottle from Boulay, a wonderful value for $25. Nose has intense chalky limestone with grassy citrus zest. The palate is like spring wheat grass, yet it has the drying aspect of chalkboard dust (right on), and a medium level acid. It has tamed somewhat since our last experience, in a good way.

Chablis like stone on the nose. Good value and should age well.

Yum Sancerre!
Grassy nose, nice mineral, elementary school chalk dust components. Palate had great, balanced acidity, light citrus and chalk/limestone. Really improving in the glass as the wine warms and gets some fresh air.
Chilling out on the patio on a wonderful 70° Berkshires afternoon, perfect mid-summer day.

Clear and clean in appearance with a pale green-lemon color.
The nose is medium(-) in intensity with primary aromas that are aromatic and of medium (-) complexity. The aromas are bright and fresh showing lemon citrus, grapefruit and pungent green herbs.
There is also excellent minerality of chalky crushed sea shells.
The palate is bone dry and medium (-) in body. This wine is high in acidity, with medium flavor intensity and a medium length finish. The grapefruit notes tend to be more pronounced on the palate, as well as saline notes not picked up on the nose.
Though this is an entry level Sancerre, since this is from Boulay expectations run a little higher. As expected this is of very good quality. This wine is well balanced with fresh and pure aromas and flavors. This shows excellent typicity. Being an entry level wine, this is ready to go now or could be set aside for another 2 years max before the freshness may start to wane. Mid-priced
