Located in the Rutherford District of Napa. Aromas of stone fruits with toasty citrus notes. On the palate the fruit shows nicely with Asian pears and crisp apples, with plenty of citrus zest. The long finish had some mineral notes, sweet vanilla spice and yeasty nutty oak, very nice. I should note that this wine did not go through malolactic fermentation in order to maintain its beautiful fruit and mineral notes. Grapes are mostly from Dijon and Wente clones grown in Carneros. Nice value.

Oddly vegetal nose, perhaps there is some oxidation here? Kind of hot on the finish too. Might be a flawed bottle.

Light golden color with green highlights. Aromas of baked apple, pear, and butterscotch with hints of white flowers. Medium bodied with creamy mouthfeel and flavors of baked apple and pear. Barrel fermented with lees stirring but without secondary malolactic fermentation then aged 10 months in 30% new French oak. Fairly typical oaked California Chardonnay which admittedly isn’t my thing. 14.1% ABV.

2015 vintage.

Light gold in color with a grilled pineapple nose accented by underripe green apples. The palate shows the green apples well along with papaya, pineapple and fresh cut flowers. The malo doesn't hinder the wine but actually let's it shine. I still don't care for Chardonnay, but I like this.

Sequoia Grove Chardonnay gives a green-gold hue in the glass. It's almost glowing. The nose hit me like a good ol’ California Chard, big and oaky, but full of tropical fruit, too. Pineapple, guava, lemon, lime, tangerine - there's a little bit of it all. The wine is barrel fermented, as well as aged in French oak. It has a very full mouthfeel, but the acidity is quite fresh, too. The oak plays prominently on the palate and is abetted by lemony minerality and the flavor of white peaches. Oak stays through a rather lengthy finish, like an old friend who just had another hour open up in the schedule. No need to leave just yet.

Solid. Has a pineapple thing going on that you're either going to hate or be okay with. Crowd pleaser all day long today. #thedayclemsonwonthenatty

Clear pale yellow. Slight hints of oak, some buttery backbone on the nose and palate. Some green apples and golden pears too. Palate has some lemon crud and sharp acidity (6.5/10). A little unbalanced but not over the top. Great citrus and tropical notes. Moderate to light plus bodied. Moderate finish. Over all great QPR for Napa Chardonnay! Drink till 2019.

Day two definitely added in some more citrus notes and creamy texture. Still a solid finish and great with seafood.

2012: Gorgeous, lush mouthfeel and rich aromatics transform into a light, crisp and refreshing Chardonnay on the palate with bright lemon zesty acidity. Varietal characteristics shine, making this a pure, clean and focused wine that is food-friendly.
