Black Label Taketsuru Pure Malt Whisky

I bought this for the winter months and finished the last of it over the weekend. This is a blended malt named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanese Whisky. He was the first Japanese who mastered Whisky making in Scotland and brought this expertise back to Japan. It was an incredibly pure and rich Whisky with a certain smokiness. I don’t drink enough Whisky to know the difference but this could easily have been Scotch to my palate. 43% ABV.

Pale Amber color with legs. Fiery nose, with pronounced waxy, oily aromas of ginger, pepper, barley, hay, vanilla, raisins, floral notes, nectarines, and white peaches. Soft mouthfeel, with peaty undertones and additional flavors of hazelnut and dried figs. Medium - finish. Great value malt!

Soft, subtle nuances for serious whisky lovers. Pepper and rose, with a meaty (not beefy) mouthfeel.

Peaty, smoky bacon, raisin, pepper. Not very fruity. Vanilla on the nice strong finish.

Found while raiding Dads stash. But I'm just helping him out since he clearly had to much of this stuff. Smooth finish, very vanilla-y

Smoothbut has a little bite to it. Color is amazing. Best with a piece of ice.

Smells mellow with faint sweetness. smooth and mellow. Nice Lingering aftertaste.
