Pale lemon with aromas of stone fruits and floral spice. On the palate flavors of pear and apple with slight toasty oak and honey notes. Long finish ending with fruit and mineral character. Very nice drinking well.

White St Joseph. Full of oxidative character and minerality that precedes the bruised apple, pear, melon and rotting stone fruit that eventually emerge. A very nutty sherry-like undertone. Needed an hour to open up and made for a great pairing with octopus braised w pork belly.

Entry-level Saint Joseph Blanc. 95% Marsanne and 5% Rousanne from estate vineyards (formerly Grippat and de Vallouit’s vineyards) as well as purchased fruit from other growers around the communes of Tournon and Sarras, in the southern part of the appellation. Fermented in stainless steel and aged in a combination of stainless steel and oak barrels (25% new)

Very balanced, almost succulent. Went great with a filet and twice baked potato.
