Tasted blind. Deep dark color, almost opaque and a bit cloudy. Quiet nose that shows a little sweet plum and some floral notes. This could be anything. It's clearly old. I go with a guess of 78 Beaucastel. Nobody picks this as old Italian.

A broad expansive nose- plums and roses and some soft notes of orange peel and tea. Obviously coming from its age but quite fruit forward. On the palate sweetness on the edges and a blast of quite shrill acidity. Really good stuff. Yum

Tasted blind. Dark red and opaque. Notes of tart cherries, earth, molasses, some wood, and a hint of VA that blew off. Rich fruit in the mouth. Monolithic though, and very quiet compared to the diva 64 Giacosa that is singing next to it. Perhaps it was the less air time that this had. What a treat to taste two great 64 Barolos side by side, brought brown-bagged by two different people.

Quite ruby dark. A haunting, intense nose with roses, raspberry, settled wood, black tea. This is so fine and subtle and delicious but still has wonderful balance and fruit. Exceptional. Riserva

Oh boy... a very expressive nose with roses and tar and some raised acidity. Fully mature with sherry notes but lovely balancing soft aged cherry fruit. The midpalate is intense and beautiful. This is long and delicious. Still light woodsy acidity but all kinds of beautifully aged fruit. Wow.

Super light in colour and aroma. Palate with the right acidity, soft tannins and light wooden flavours

1964. Starting from the lighter colour also a very soft taste. Fab tasting on the nose with and unbelievable wide range of aroma.

Aromas of dark soy sauce and tar give way to flavors of rich muddy cherry red currant and an explosion of juicy acidity

Almost a ruby color, with barely any sign of brick - same feeling of freshness on the palate, surprisingly vibrant
