Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Collaboration Series Ptera Cabernet Syrah

As much as I love wine I’m head over heels for food 😍....The Force Majeure paired well with the Tri tip and prime filet but it’s still very tight, chewy and compact right now. I’d hold.

Talk about an introduction to Washington state wines! Wow. @Benjamin Keator and @Keith Fisher were kind enough to share a glass of some big boy WA wines, and both were super unique.

The nose on this to me was heavy on cinnamon and nutmeg. A tannic monster which gradually opened up (though not near fast enough for me as I had to leave early). Great texture on the palate. A lot of dark fruit, plums, dustiness to it. Tasting it alongside a Syrah gave this more of a toasted oak/vanilla finish than if it was stand alone. Definitely going to seek some of this out.

Nice structure but some detracting characteristics. Still some heat on the finish. A faint astringency. Something didn't flow.

This wine has a ni of Viognier in the blend

Keeps getting better and better. Very balanced. Give it 10 years and it will blow the doors off

Another home run! A complex, dark fruit long Vanilla finish. Some might think too much toast. To me, great wine.

I liked this a lot 50/50 cab Syrah blend found it unique very smooth and long from finish. Currant and cedar
