Inky dark purple. I concentrated aromas of cola, blackberries and sage. Intense flavors of ripe fig, leather and raspberry rounded out with licorice, roasted plum and white pepper. Texture is fat, round and soft on the finish, almost floating along the tongue.

Best Zin I ever tasted was a 1985 Neyers. Spotted this and knew I had to try it. Red, medium extracted pigment, very good clarity. Mint, briar, butter, raspberry and Ribena notes in nose. Cherry, blackberry flavors, mild-to-moderate fine-grain skin astringency, some seed bitterness with lactic and lees in finish. Needs a bit of time to open. Tart black currant and blackberry flavors with length in finish and aftertaste develop after 20 minutes. Great fruit and finesse here, different from the ‘85 but memorable in its own right. Enough tannins here to age a few years as well.

Another vintage to experience. Ruby red in color, highly extracted pigment. Mint-eucalyptus, butter and raspberry notes in nose. Blackberry and cherry flavors, cherry aftertaste with length. Later, a cola-like flavor emerges. Moderate skin astringency, chewy fine grain seed tannins initially. Fairly integrated flavors after an hour. A serious tannin structure to this one, worth decanting at least a hour. An impressive wine, fruity but not your typical Zin. Made to a more ambitious design for this varietal; I admire their ambition and execution here. It largely works

Zin with a deft touch. Only old French oak barrels. Had some VA on opening, felt a little rustic. Still, some lovely berry pst h character and spice redeemed it in the end, tasty with Thai short ribs (tho almost wanted a more extracted Zin)

Great Zinfandel!! I love Neyers! Unflitered and delicious. Had this with a pork loin tonight with a chipotle raspberry sauce. My sister said it was the best food and wine pairing she has ever had. Thanks Neyers

Wild berries, wild florals and spice on the nose. Wild berries, pepper, spice, chunky dry dark minerals, perfume florals, touch of brown sugar and sage. Lean and dry bright fruit finish.

Bramble, rich red fruit, cola. Prickly on tongue. Finish mid-palate w/a bit of heat. Intriguing #zinfandel
