2016 vintage. Château de Rouillac, Pessac-Léognan. A good wine, but there is a little underlying greenness. Therefore, not in the same league as the 2015.

This estate was bought by Laurent Cisneros in 2010. A blend of 57% cabernet sauvignon and 43% merlot, aged 15 months in barriques (40% new). Very attractive perfume. This medium-bodied, elegant wine is a good example of the 2015 vintage that fared especially well in Pessac-Léognan. Not a powerhouse, but stylish and refined. Hard to resist young, but should age well.

Tobacco and leather abound with nice 2010 balance and freshness.

Ruby colour at medium intensity. Charming nose between red fruits, typical ageing: cedar, oak, tobacco, tar, and already a beginning of evolution. Medium body, but concentrated. Dry and mineral character that gives a kick to the whole. Nice general balance.

I’m biased because I just love Bordeaux, but man oh man this is good. Aroma is pencil shavings, green pepper, barnyard, and dirt. None of those things sound appealing, but I promise it’s awesome. Medium plus body, bittersweet cocoa, cassis. Love it.
