Decanted the heck out of this and it has many years to go but with enough air it is drinking brilliantly! Vibrant, balanced, and beautiful.

Arietta Wines lunch with owner Fritz. We were able to taste through some current releases as well as some reserve wines Fritz brought with him personally. A treat to enjoy these Andy Erickson wines!

Obviously in a similar vein to the other two, this was drinking perfectly. Very Bordeaux like. Abundance of flowers, tar, charcoal, aged black cherries and mocha aromatics. More of the same on the palate with added pipe tobacco, some tangy rhubarb, and black pepper at the finish. Drink now and enjoy.

This felt like it was just starting to hit its drinking window. Very pretty and aromatic. Potpourri, lavender, dusted dark cocoa bits, plum and savory smoke on the nose with underripe blackberries, baking spices and nutmeg. Lovely.

Lots of potential here but crazy youthful. H Block is CabFranc and merlot co-fermented. At this age, it was really fuzzy and nervy. Bouquet of violets and mulberry but also pepper spice and chalky tannins. This will get more floral but some dark cocoa notes started to show toward the end.

Hi there, shall we light incense and put flowers in our hair and think deep thoughts while eating various herbal pastes upon roasting meat? I don’t actually quite remember what roasting meat tastes like but I’ve smelled it and this steak has a good deal of pepper and aforementioned herbal paste. Licorice for dessert. This wine is sensual and a little mysterious much like my soul aspires to be. Excuse me. I’m going to go light a candle.

Sensual nose; campfire, pen ink, roasted herbs, jerky, toasted oak, blueberry tart, cooked blackberries, Asian spices, puff pastry. The palate is nicely layered. All the same flavors of the nose along with red currants, bramble berry, and white pepper. In a really nice place right now.

Yum...!! Showing beautifully... probably should have laid it down for a few more years, but glad I didn’t. It’s singing now.

14’ If you choose to enjoy this anytime soon a double decanting would be wise. Love to open a bottle in 5 years.

Almost 50/50 merlot and cab franc blend. Much more compact showing. Needs time to unfurl. Not big or brash. Give this time, as time will take this to an even better place. Pristine tannic structure. Again, loving the coffee notes.
