Last night I opened the 2021 Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand.
On the nose there is pungent up front in your face grapefruit, lime, gooseberry, melon, asparagus, flunty notes and minerality.
On the palate are nice grapefruit, lime, white peach, gooseberry, melin, guava and minerality.

This is an attractive, light bodied Sauvignon Blanc with appealing succulence through the mid- palate, potentially due to lower yields. Dog Point Vineyard combines experience of Ivan and Margaret Sutherland & James and Wendy Healy. Ivan and James met while working at Cloudy Bay Vineyards. Light straw with typical SB aromas with some floral mineral notes. On the palate flavors of melon and grapefruit citrus with honeysuckle notes, lively acidity, nice mouthfeel with long finish ending with a salty spice character. Exceptional wine! Drink ‘19 now!

The nose reveals notes of grapefruit, kiwifruit, guava, papaya, jalapeño, herbs, lemongrass and wet concrete.
On the palate there is pronounced notes of lime, grapefruit, kiwifruit, melon, celery and salty minerality.
